In that location is no option to alter the background color of Photograph App. This is by design. However if you want to provide a feedback yous tin can open the Photo app and the click on Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you lot will get pick to Send Feedback.

Thanks for your reply. As there is no option to change the background colour of the Photo App, then this problem cannot be stock-still in this mode, and the viewing of some transparency images remains as a current major flaw to this App.
I had already sent this feedback to the App and it remains to exist seen whether whatever notice will be taken of it and any attempt made to fix this serious effect with this App. Information technology seems amazing to me that this App has been fabricated like this and without an ability to view transparency images properly (a big oversight and problem in my opinion). I will take to look to use an alternative default photograph viewer for my Win10 PC.

The Photos app is broken. PLEASE ready it. Photos with black on a transparent groundwork cannot exist viewed. Yous need a neutral groundwork. It should be changeable past the user. Please fix this ASAP. While I'grand writing you. please fix the side-by-side view of 2 File explorer windows. For many versions information technology worked fine. Now it is broken. Maddening.

I don't believe this is possible. However, you tin alter the default application from the 'Photos' app to the 'Windows Photograph Viewer' awarding which doesn't have this upshot.
Steps:-
- Correct click on prototype
- Open up with > Choose another app
- Select 'Windows Photograph Viewer'
- Tick 'Always employ this app to open .thirty files'
You lot will need to echo this for all file types you want to move.

Good idea - except for the fact the Windows Photograph Viewer is not on my Windows 10 system. Grrrrr. Detest it when they replace something perfectly expert with something bedridden!

Windows Photo Viewer is not registered past default in Windows 10, but it's yet here.
You can enable Windows Photograph Viewer using a registry edit.

Ramesh, thanks so much. After backing up my current registry, I applied the new reg file. Works perfectly! I do take to say I hunted in vain for some of the ways to cheque the files associated with information technology, but that article asked for choices that I do non have with Windows ten Habitation, like Control Panel, Gear up Default Programs, etc. Only Photo Viewer at present opens jpg and png files, my well-nigh-often used items. Haven't tested others yet.

You're welcome! Correct-click Beginning, and click Command Panel. then click Programs > Default Programs > Set up your default programs.
(or)
Press WinKey + R to bring up Run dialog. Type the following exactly and printing ENTER:
command.exe /name Microsoft.DefaultPrograms /page pageDefaultProgram
This takes you to the Default Programs folio directly.
(or)
Utilize the modern Default Apps UI.
Click Showtime, Settings, Organization, Default apps.

When viewing some transparency images (png,gif) the black background of Win10 Photo App, can obscure black text and black shapes.
Presumably these would exist seen, if the photo app background was white or a light neutral colour, merely I tin see no way to modify the black groundwork of this app and this is very frustrating every bit these images do not brandish properly.
Is it possible to set this background to view such transparency images properly?
Right click on the image within the photo app, click open with, choose photo gallery and information technology should open with a white background. Yous tin tick a box to make the photo gallery the default option. (Photograph gallery and photo seem to be 2 different apps).
Not sure why this changed in Windows 10, XP, 7 and 8 always use to open in the photo gallery for me.
